Piggy Munchkin - free pig amigurumi crochet pattern

Piggy Munchkin

Happy New Year!

If you’re like me, and millions of other American’s, you likely spent New Years Eve eating Chinese food. I’m not really sure why that is but I’m not one to argue with tasty food. If you’re really like me you were also watching The Twilight Zone. If you look up any top 10 list of Twilight Zone episodes you’re likely to find The Eye of the Beholder on every one of them. For those of you who don’t remember, or are maybe too young to remember, this is the episode in which a woman goes in for a cosmetic surgery to make herself look more beautiful according to her society’s standards. In the end we find that the woman looked rather attractive by our own standards but in her world attractive people looked more like human pigs. So what does this New Years Eve Chinese food feast and viewing of The Twilight Zone have to do with anything? Honestly not much, I’m just tying things together and making as many connections as possible.

So we have New Year’s, the Twilight Zone “pig episode” (as some call it) and Chinese food.
Now let’s talk about Chinese New Year, which falls this year on February 5th and just so happens to be … the year of the Pig which was my inspiration for this month’s free Munchkin pattern.

There, connections made, and now that all the pieces are together I would like to introduce you to this Chinese New Year year of the pig free crochet pattern, my piggy Munchkin.
