I know, I know. It’s August. It’s summer. It’s time for iced tea and pools and lemonade. Yeah maybe, but it’s August. That means back to school and back to school means fall. I admit, I might be jumping the gun by a couple weeks here but fall is my favorite season and I simply couldn’t help myself. So here it is, the second in my set of four: The Acorn.

- 3.75mm crochet hook
- Worsted weight yarn in brown and tan
I used Loops & Threads Impeccable yarn in chocolate brown and soft taupe
- Stitch marker
- Black embroidery thread
- Tapestry needle
- 12mm safety eyes
- Thread (I like transparent thread)
1. Make a magic ring, sc 6 in ring (6)
2. Inc around (12)
3. [sc, inc] 6x (18)
4. [sc next 2, inc] 6x (24)
5. [sc next 3, inc] 6x (30)
6. [sc next 4, inc] 6x (36)
7. [sc next 4, dec] 6x (30)
Fasted off add bobble stitch to top center:
Insert hook around one of the center stitches at top of work, chain 2
Yo, insert hook, yo, pull up loop, yo pull through 2 loops on hook (2 loops left on hook), yo, insert hook, yo, pull up loop, yo, pull through 2 loops (3 loops left on hook), yo, insert hook, yo, pull up loop, yo, pull through 2 loops, yo, pull through all 4 loops on hoop, sl st, fasten off
switch to tan
Attach tan to any stitch

10. Sc around (24)
11. Sc around (24)

Stop to attach face
Attach safety eyes between 3rd and 4th row from top of tan with 3 stitches in between them. Sew mouth with embroidery thread.

Close top and fasten off
